Too often we fear what destiny has in store for us, simply because it may mean radical change. Sometimes we force change before its time has come. Sometimes we miss opportunities because we’re too cozy with where we are. But change will find you. You cannot force it, you cannot resist it, and you cannot avoid it. The key is to pay attention to when it’s time to go, or when it’s time to stay put for a while. No-one gets to stay forever.
The foolish only think they can remain the same by digging in their heals. The immature try to force change with their impatience, irritation, and frustration. The wise are always ready, peaceful, and willing. They keep a lookout, and they keep a bag or two packed, ready to go at a moment’s notice. The wise can willingly part with anything, yet everything is appreciated as long as it lasts. When you hear the whistle of the change train, be watchful, get ready, and get onboard when it comes. Change is not your enemy, it’s your perpetual destination.
It’s far better to be moldable, and ready at all times. Coziness is way overrated. Sure, enjoy where you are now, but think of everything in your life as a temporary destination. Eventually the train of change will move again. Is the whistle blowing? Jump onboard when its time! Pay attention to when change is affront. It’s important to be ready when it wants to move again. Permanence is an illusion, so don’t be foolish. You’re never too old to go on a new adventure, if the time for change has come. Always be willing to step off of the platform and go where fate wants to go.
Ryan.
This post on “Change” is one of your best. It is so very true; your words are very wise and meaningful.
