The X position.

Faith is momentum despite being unsure of what to do, how to do it, exactly who or what you are, where you’re headed, and the exact plan from start to finish. It is a hazy sense that what you want you already have, and that what you seek you have already found, even if it is nowhere in plain sight.

You do it with insight, not “figuring it out.” Figuring out is a removal from the fabric of wholeness—a cutting away of some foreground object from its essential background. But faith binds that together–foreground and background. They are already tied, and assurance comes to you when you realize your interconnectivity, even in what scares the bejesus out of you – differences.

Once you have been scared “out of your mind,” you see how creation does her best work. You can trust that where you are, what you are doing, and how you are doing it is perfect, and that this kind of creativity transcends the linear mind, even if it feels like walking with a blindfold on to the rest of the world.

When things look like a sure thing, surely, you’re fooled. Creative genius is being unsure, but not insecure. That is the position of wild success, blind momentum; but not stupid. You cannot force your way into the dark; you must be invited into the dark and “see” the Dark Knight has no power to snuff it “out.”

Truly successful people realize they cannot miss when there is no target, path, opposing force, or obstacle. Some have just learned how to efface darkness and forge ahead diligently, without paralysis or fear of “missing the mark,” which is what the church calls sin.

With no target, obstacle, path, mark of the beast, or scarlet letter over which to feel guilty, you simply cannot miss the mark when you are the X that marks that very spot. The X position.

Move freely, then.

The light that doesn’t fade illumines The Way.
