Amen. So be it. Or maybe not?

If you label something as wrong or bad, your reality becomes “as it should be.” What ought to be, could be, and should be are not reality. Reality is what is. Why can’t we settle with this ultimate, undeniable truth?

If reality isn’t as it should be, we try to fix it. But that’s like saying the ripples in a pool of water are imperfections. So you jump in the pool to smooth them out or “fix” them with your hands. Your zeal to “fix” what you’ve labeled as wrong, or not as it should be, inadvertently creates more ripples.

When will we realize that the tail is chasing the head? And that if you really get down into the fundamentals of ultimate reality, you have no choice but to comply. As it should be is a denial of as it is. But it’s always as it is. You’re just watching life unfold and compliance masquerades as choice. Even if you had two options on the table, like two job offers, you’re ultimately surrendering to which one resonates with you the most. The choice is made already, and all you’re doing is settling on the feeling. Whether you get it “right” is moot. It will always be as it is.

But even if you’ve chosen the gut-level “no,” it’s not the so-called wrong choice. Wrong choices are the world as “it could have been.” That doesn’t exist either. It’s only reality as is, and as it was in the beginning is now and will be forever. So be it? Or would you rather keep pretending it can ever be “so be it not?” When you realize it cannot be “so be it not,” you’ll give up on the pretense of choice, and you’ll be free from the inner conflict that plagues the average human.
