Consciousness, awareness, and knowledge all seem to be expanding. That’s because the universe is in constant expansion. With that in mind, it’s important to remember that failure or success is a temporary tick mark in an ever-expanding universe. Stop erecting frames and push towards infinity! The universe will blow out the borders and expand through the frame anyway. The trick is to make the frame out of the lightest material possible, then let it dissolve.
I was recently listening to a conversation between a seasoned seamstress and a wanna be. The wanna be seemed very interested in making clothing, but she was scared to death that what she attempted might turn out to be a “disaster.” “What if I fail?”
What if you fail? Failure is framed as a stoppage. Are you a stoppage, a failure, or an ending? You are an expanding vessel. Failures make frames. Artists create. There is never an end to the creative curve. Thelonious Monk famously said, “The piano ain’t got no wrong notes!” If you frame it up as “wrong,” the keyboard waits for more.
Each breath is an opportunity for wrong notes, right notes, or no notes at all. It’s your frame. We must not affix labels. Once a cheater always a cheater? How can that be? A human is a running stream of possibility.
Putting something in a file called “failure” stops time. But let me remind you that the universe is timeless. The universe is expanding; yet infinite – how? I cannot explain. I can’t wrap up the universe in a summary – that’s a frame. Come on. You have another day to dissolve the frame. Ongoingness is the key. The piano has 88 of them – 88 keys of possibility. They’re yours for the taking – right or wrong, just keep creating and dip beyond the frame and into the never-ending stream of potential.
