I’m only human. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Think of yourself as an iceberg in the ocean. What most people notice about themselves is the tip that sticks out from the surface. From there, they go around thinking – that’s it, that’s all there is. But there is a massiveness you miss in that wee assumption. Yes, you are the tip – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

An iceberg is the ocean. The waterline is the ocean. The tip is the ocean, and so is the massive structure below. The air above is the ocean – water vapor. One could say by deduction that it’s all ocean in different forms, one in the same.

It’s been said that the ego is Edging God Out. But how can you edge God out of anything? By misperceiving I suppose, but even misperception is God. But somehow, seeing just the tip is what allows us to notice the water-ness, the sameness of it all – the iceberg, the air, the surface, the waterline, the depths below – all H20 at a fundamental level.

Many humans see only the tip with a presumption that that is all there is in this world. So in their arguments for limitation they say, “I’m only human.” Then, they throw their hands in the air and give up. What a shame. The depths of the iceberg are impressive but remain hidden to those who see lack.

Going deeper breaks the so-called boundaries, and you begin to see how the trick is done. If you’re only human, that’s fine. Do your best to enjoy your limited viewpoint from just above the surface. I’d rather explore deeper – that’s where I’m going to find I’m not just human. An iceberg is not just its tip. Seeing yourself that way is just the tip of the iceberg. You’ve got more to know, and when you crack the boundaries, you open the floodgates.
