What we see as solidified material is mostly dead. Like the outer layer of your own skin, that stuff is dead. The youthful skin is underneath. Forms are hardened versions of inward visions, but once ideas harden into surface reality, they become stiff – a sign of death. The real fun is the jiggly, spirit-filled, embryonic visions that bubble from within – your dreams, desires, and goals. Working in that inner, visionary level brings life. Think in new directions and watch yourself glow.
While surface reality is beautiful, the real treasure of effervescence is within the realm of not what we see with our eyes, but what we see in our hearts. Most of us are consumed by the surface, dealing with dead stuff, hardened already. Visionaries, dreamers, and idea-framers are dwelling in the good stuff, the squishy playground of the imagination. Working with possibility is like playing in the sandbox.
Our preconception is usually of failure, impossibility, or limit. But that’s surface thinking. The surface has no potential – it’s hardened. Your ideas and dreams don’t have a chance without the deep nourishment of supple consideration. A shallow dreamer dismisses their inklings, a word whose roots come from Middle English inkle, which means utter in an undertone.
An undertone can only be heard in stillness. These undertones have secrets. New life, youthfulness, and energy spring forth from this deep hum of Truth. The fun is finding your ideas resonating down there and nurturing them into a full-fledged song. Bring the undertone into a stronger vibration. Hear it incubating, nurture it with belief, and bring it to the surface. But don’t stop there! Dive in repeatedly, and bring out all treasures! Surface-dwellers are zombies dealing in dead stuff. Life and liveliness are below, so delve deeper into the source and bring your treasures into the light of day.
