Take it with you, the cat doesn’t care.

I was recently at the beach with my friend and business partner for an evening viewing of the sunset. Here on the west coast of Florida, we get some of the most spectacular sunset views! There’s a picture of it at the bottom of this post, although photos never do nature any justice. As we were sitting there, I was lamenting the fact that we had to leave all of this behind after it was over, but she said “Take it with you.”

You know that feeling you get when you’re on holiday, or it’s a free weekend and you just feel so free? My parents are like that. They love being retired. I often wonder why Monday has to feel heavy and serious, but Friday evenings can be fancy-free. Sunday evenings and the looming workweek were often heavy for me.

I’ve thought about that “take-it-with-you” mentality and have tried to apply my sunset freedom to every moment. It does wonders if you take it with you. The cat that lounges around, outside of my house couldn’t care less if it was Tuesday or Christmas Day. He’s carefree and enjoys being himself, time and what day it is is of no use to him.

Take it with you. Take the good vibes of a sunset with you. Take the sensation that you’re free, alive, and relaxed with you today. Today is a Monday, but the universe laughs at such a label. The universe is magical and wonderful every day. It’s creative, spontaneous, quiet, and easygoing all the time. Can you take that with you, or are you going into this week with the dreads? Perhaps what you need to take off is the heaviness of a “Monday.” My cat doesn’t care that it’s the start of a workweek. Take that carefree attitude with you. Today is your day off!
