The boundless supply of creativity.

Friday, December 1, 2023

Some people have a hard time believing that they are creative. I’d argue that everything is creative. There is endless supply of nothing being converted into something. That’s what creativity is, taking nothing and making it into something. Here’s the key, the so-called nothing and the so-called something are both alike. How creative is that? It’s all creative and so are you.

Your heart is creating circulation. Your immune system is creating a defense. Your lungs are creating carbon dioxide. Your digestive system is creating regenerative components for energy and waste for elimination. Your mind is creating thoughts. Your body is creating action and movement. Your attitude is creating energy.

The universe constantly creates with exuberance and abandon. There are always more seeds scattered than are necessary. There way more spermatozoa than needed; tons more stars and galaxies than you can imagine; a cornucopia of marine life; and an unfathomable number of microorganisms. Nature is abundantly creative, and it gives and creates with such playfulness and plenitude that we don’t even notice it. Humans create unconsciously, and this is why the world seems to be in danger. We create scarcity. We create lack, helplessness, and conflict. We create fear, distrust, and divisions. We created mindless addictions.

What if we created more intentionally? What if we looked around us and created like the examples we see in nature? If we only realized how much excess and abundant supply there is, we’d create more joy and fun. We’d give away all that we had and more. We’d create parties and gatherings. We’d create communities and healing. We’d create masterpieces of exuberant expressiveness. We’d create meals for strangers. We’d create fun events and new friends. We’d give ourselves away. The universe gives itself away, abundantly. The universe knows there’s plenty more and the supply never dries up. So what are you creating today?
