Give people a chance to change, to grow, and to learn. Think of how much you’ve changed over the past few years. Likely, you’re more enlightened and aware than many of the people that are in your company. If you read blogs like this, or spend time in other kinds of spiritual teaching, you understand that humans make unconscious choices that harm, but that they also are learning to find their way to more understanding and enlightenment. Remind yourself that others are evolving just like you. The universe is corrective, educative, and is working its purpose out in all humans – so give them room to grow.
There are so many stages to human evolution, and it might take several lifetimes for one to get on a more illumined path. The toughest years are likely your 20’s and 30’s, but even so, there are many people who don’t change very quickly. But they are.
One of the best things about the human experience is seeing where you’ve been blind. It’s seeing when you’ve hurt people. It’s seeing where you’ve been wrong. It’s seeing how you were simply ignorant to the actions and choices which may have hurt others. Often, our most grievous actions are under duress. When we’re under the strain of stress and fear, we are not our best. You’ve made choices under duress, and they have hurt others and yourself. To correct this, contemplate what life is teaching you, and spend time alone in silence. We will change until we die, and we must understand that a human is a process of life and not a product of life that stays the same, locked in a perception. Free people from your locked-in perceptions and let them change.
