Don’t get caught thinking there is only a sunny side. The dark side is lurking. Good doesn’t exist without its evil counterpart. Money doesn’t make you wealthy. The poor make the wealthy and the wealthy make the poor. Being first doesn’t make you a winner, the loser makes you the winner. Half of the world is in darkness right now, and half of you is in darkness too. To know that you are alive means there is a hidden “death” making this so. This “death” is the unknown that makes knowing possible. It’s the background from which foreground emerges.
We simply don’t understand the twinkling fickleness of flipping duality. These flips make us come unglued. The coupled one becomes single, and the pretty one becomes ugly. One minute you have a long life ahead of you, and the next, a terminal diagnosis makes death your intimate bedfellow. “Gotcha,” says the universe. There are always two sides, and we are blind to this.
The sunny side is attractive, but it cannot be all there is. You cannot stay on one side forever. As the universe undulates and pulsates from one pole to the next, it awakens you. It opens your mind to the sweet music of duality, vibrating in perfect unison with itself. Nothing is impossible, without implicit possibility waiting on the “dark” side. Sleep on it, and what was impossible will become possible. There are no problems in your life that don’t have hidden solutions on the underbelly. Sleep on it, and problems become solutions. All problems come with solutions; but beware, solutions also come with problems. Welcome the flips and the flops, of this great happening we call life. The wonder of the universe is a back-and-forth vibration playing only one tune. Can you hear it buzzing from pole to pole, hiding from itself in the beautiful song of flip and flop.
