If you find yourself in a sticky situation, and you don’t know what to do, then do nothing. Laozi suggests we do this very thing in the 37th verse of the Tao Te Ching where it states, “The Tao does nothing, but leaves nothing undone.” That’s good advice. When there is nothing you can do, then that’s what you do – nothing. If the situation arises where you can do something, then take it. Act upon the idea, say yes to the opportunity – don’t leave it undone when the solution arises. But it will come to you if you remain easy.
It may seem like you’re at a dead end, but I just don’t think there are deadlocked situations. We just always want to see into the future, but we cannot. Just trust. That’s the key. Whatever you’re facing, the outcome is unknown, so choose trust over fear, and do nothing until such time as you can.
How it will work out is always a mysterious chain of events. I think that the fabric of a good life is a total trust in that interlocking chain of the unknown solution. If it remains unknowable, then do nothing. When it’s time, be level headed and the right course of action will make itself known to you. Freakout mode delays the arrival. If there is nothing to be done, and you are all out of plans or ideas, then just chill. That’s right, if you’re facing a challenge and nothing has availed itself to you, go ride your bike, take a nap, visit with a friend, or sit and meditate. Do something relaxing and enjoyable, and you increase your vibrational energy. Leave it up to the right time. When action is required, you’ll know not to leave it undone. In the meantime, breakout from freakout mode, and all things will flow to you with ease.
