The fish doesn’t know what water is.

I have a large Bougainvillea growing over my back deck, and just outside of my screen door are a pair of cardinals who are taking care of their babies. Cardinals brood in the spring, and I’m actually writing this entry in April. I blog months in advance. I’ve noticed that both the male and the female are involved in the care. I also read that cardinals have been known to feed other baby birds of other species! Isn’t that something how nature cares for her own!

Do you feel cared for? I think a lot of humans feel alien, like they somehow don’t belong or feel bonded. They feel foreign, on the outer fringe and disconnected. When you feel separateness like that, you feel fearful. But that is a blindness to interconnection, the life force that moves and breathes in all. How can you not feel it?

You’re part of the kingdom, you’re not apart from the kingdom. Essentially you are the kingdom, and you can never be separate from what created you. Separateness is an illusion. You’re like a fish in water. Ask a fish – “Where is the water?” They wouldn’t know what you’re talking about. Ask a human, “Where is God?” And it’s the same unknown hiding in plain sight. You are not only in the water, but are the water itself. Life is a beautiful, reflective image of itself, and the illusory “other” is a mirage that points you to the fact that you and source are one. You are never alone. The apparition of “other” or separateness is a pointer, a sign that you are alive and one with all. Wake up, “the water” is everywhere, and it’s keeping you buoyant, and safe. Now lie back, be at ease, and float to where it takes you.
