No matter what you have, there’s always more to be had. No matter where you travel, there’s another place more exotic. No matter what you do, it can be improved and be made better. No matter how many “likes” your post gets, there’s someone else who will get more. There is always more. There’s always better. Better and more never expire, so be cautious.
Do you need more and do you need better? Possibly, but for what? Are you willing to give up what you already have, only for what you see as so-called improvement? Be careful at what you’re willing to toss out. Don’t toss aside that which is actually a blessing, only because you think there might be more behind curtain number two. May be there is, but why gamble? What you give up, someone else will see as a treasure.
You can have a thousand new jobs; countless new partners; billions of dollars; piles of new clothes; innumerable adoring fans and friends; and there will always be better and there will always be more. Yes, it’s certainly OK to have goals and dreams, but be careful in thinking that without achieving them, you’re not doing much with your life. Don’t turn your back on what actually might be a blessing. All of this effort might not be worth pulling that slot machine lever, one more time. What you do have may be far more valuable than what you think you don’t have. Pause before you move on to more and better, because once you get there, a new version of more and better will eventually be knocking at your door.
