A new year, a new perception, a new now.

I wish I had no regrets, no worries, and no plans. I wish I had time. I wish I had the real-time, present-moment awareness of a cat, plopping myself down where I choose, sleeping when I’m tired, playing when I’m frisky, lurking around when I’m curious. A cat has no trouble being itself. A cat is perfectly a cat, giving into its natural impulse. Nature itself has no plans, no worries, and no regrets. Nature doesn’t apologize when it whips up a storm that destroys. Nature doesn’t explain why it gives nourishment, and it doesn’t cry when we don’t admire it. Nature doesn’t worry. Nature doesn’t lie. It’s perfectly balanced and in tune with itself, harmonious, quirky, free, wonderful, and blissfully at ease. Did you know that you too have this capacity – to be harmonious, quirky, free, wonderful, and blissfully at ease?

You are a natural creature. Pay attention to your natural impulse. A cat doesn’t need physiological counseling to figure out who they are. They are the lucky ones. You can live free of chronological time, obsessing of past and future. You can know the beauty of what time it really is – NOW. You can pay close attention to the nature of who you are, and allow it to blossom as it wills, in its own time. You can acknowledge your desires, your natural inclinations, your moment-by-moment revelations as to who you need to be, where you need to go, and what you need to do. Honor your nature this year. Be like a cat, honest, sincere, and playfully curious about the world. A cat already knows itself, so the world is its playground. You’ve got the best of both “worlds” – your inner and outer world. Get curious, but above all, get honest about your inner nature while you explore your outer environment. You’ve got all the “time” in the world.
