There is no trouble in this world, there are only troubled people. The troubled mind lashes out at others, wreaking havoc in the world. But the peacemaker learns how to think greater than the unchecked mind, and to create better feelings when the enemy attacks.
The peacemaker is a creator. The peacemaker makes happiness, by creating the feelings and behaviors of a happy person. The peacemaker creates wealth, by imagining the security of being wealthy. The peacemaker makes friends, by internally becoming a friendly person. The peacemaker works alone because that’s how the imagination flourishes, in quiet and with no external distractions of phones, TV’s, or social media.
If you create inner goodness, when you manufacture thoughts and feelings that rise above the compulsive mind, you’ll find your true line of defense. Not only will you be able to defend yourself against a troubled mind, you’ll be able to waive the white flag, high into the world, happy and well-adjusted in the outer condition (what happens to you). Even if you don’t feel great at this moment, you can imagine what feeling good is like, right now, if you give yourself a chance. The imagination is your line of defense against the enemy, the compulsive mind.
There is a raging storm in this world, but it’s happening internally. You can help by standing in your boat, holding out your palm and commanding the storm to cease. It’s not willpower. That’s just suppression. The enemy will attack, the storm will brew, but that’s when you deliberately use your imagination to create an image of what inner peace feels like, right now. That power exists at all times. You don’t have to feel peace before you can imagine its effects – besides, the brain knows no difference between a dream and reality, anyway. When you’re troubled, use your God-given imagination, and use it to become a peacemaker, instantly.
