I never asked to be born. Which begs the question, when we ask, who is asking, and who is granting if not one?
When we seek, who is seeking, and who is hiding, if not one? At some point, we must realize that we are asking ourselves. Why would we tell ourselves “no?” Wouldn’t the fact that we ask already imply it’s doneness? Rather silly to think you need to ask yourself, “Do you want to be rich, healthy, vibrant, free, and successful?”
Many people “respond” to such lunacy with the answer – “Let me think about it, I’m not sure.”
When Jesus attended to the crippled man by the pool in Bethesda, he asked him point blank – “Do you want to be healed?” The man gave some lame excuse about how he couldn’t get in the pool – too many greedy people pushed ahead of him. Jesus wasn’t having it. No excuses. Just pick up the mat and walk. “Stop sinning,” he said.
The lacking mindset is what this man “suffered” from. He was a beggar. He was in constant want. He asked but failed to realize he denied himself.
You don’t even need to ask. You don’t have that right. Does that mean you were “brought here” against your will? No. It means you think you have a will. It means you think you have a choice. A desire is not a choice, dear readers. If it were, then you could desire to desire.
The desire is not lack, but a foreshadowing. A promise that there is not a reason to ask. Somehow, your desires are seeds that a beggar cannot fully realize. An acorn is not enough for a beggar.
There is no asking. The seeds “contain” the forest.
That’s impressive. It’s so effortless, there is no asking required.
Just plant your seeds.
