We are all growing and changing as living creatures, and so too are our tastes, and preferences. When you fall into mindless habits (which can be addictive), you deprive yourself of the fundamental right to choose what pleases you. Start to pay attention to your body, for example. It will tell you what it needs. It will tell you if it needs to relax, or if it needs to sleep, or if it needs to stretch. It will tell you when it needs to move, and when it needs to exercise. Your mind will tell you when it’s time to stop thinking so much, when it needs a pause, and when it needs to meditate. Other senses, like your taste buds, will also beckon your attention. Pay attention to them, even (and especially) when you cook for yourself. It’s easy to say “it doesn’t matter, it’s just for me,” and dismiss your likes and preferences when you’re alone. Our sensory perceptions have preferences (likes and dislikes), but too often we do not expose them to new experiences, and we simply don’t pay attention to what they tell us. How would you ever know if you like something, if you don’t expose yourself to it? Your mind might tell you you don’t “like” this or that, but that’s just fear. Expose your being and your senses to new experiences, so you can know what you want and what you like. And you can know which kind of people you want to be with, especially a potential, future partner.
Explore your world, and explore your inner self to “see” what gives you pleasure, what increases your energy, and what brings out your natural joy. Don’t just assume, and certainly don’t dismiss something new – especially an opportunity that comes your way. Notice yourself in every situation. Notice if your vibration illuminates or if it scatters, but expose yourself to new adventures. You can start off small, but find what is essentially “yours” by exploring the world around you. Being set in your ways is a dangerous way to live – it won’t bring you joy, it will just keep you in a cocoon of a so-called comfort zone. Explore your environment, but do it for yourself. You are the only person that can fulfill your needs and satisfy your desires. Nurture your natural desires and preferences – start today!
