If you’re waiting to give someone a piece of your mind, they won’t give you “the pleasure” of appearing in your court. As long as there is a warrant, there will be a fugitive.
The ugliness you seem to see in others, is ugliness in you. Whoever it is that you wish to give a piece of your mind and punish is not who you think. There is no guilty party. The “other” is a mirror teacher.
How do we make it not about “them?” First, acknowledge your disdain for “them” is a feeling in you. Imagine when you speak, even to your pet, you are speaking into a mirror. How you speak to yourself will be how you speak to “them.” “Us” vs. “them” impedes spiritual progress. I’m not talking about fake smiles and platitudes either, but genuine expression.
Secondly, acknowledge the problem is a failure to process negative feelings you have, before “cornering them” into your lure for a bashing. They’ll run as if they are being preyed upon. They’ll lash out as if being attacked. The game is not to trap yourself, but to free “the captive.”
The surprise would be to drop the charges. The surprise verdict would be “totally innocent” for yourself and “them.” It might surprise you that if you are more welcoming, people will be more welcoming, even those who seem to deserve a knuckle sandwich right between the eyes. Do you not deserve the same desert? No one deserves a single thing!!
Reality welcomes the innocent and never accuses. To get real is to get prepared for a warm reception (back home). Keep the fake judge off of the fake bench.
When the prodigal returned, he feared he was walking into a lure. Instead, he walked into the warmest, unimaginable reception – Love, unconditioned. That’s real.
