The Oblivious One.

When we “walk confidently in the direction of our dreams,” as Thoreau suggested, we are rewarded with a meeting of “success unexpected in common hours.”

Procrastination is waiting for the “man upstairs” or the “main character” who never appears. Waiting for resources, time, or a sign from “the universe” is a road to nowhere.

If procrastination spoke, it would ask, “Money, may I?” “Time, may I?” “Honey, (as in spouse) may I?” “God, may I?” If you ask God for permission, we must counter – “Who does God, herself, ask for permission?”

Procrastination is a false idol. Yet, it seems to have power. We permit our tools to give us permission, which is a cat-and-mouse game of insanity. Time, the mind, money, etc. are tools. What power does a tool have if it doesn’t have you to operate it?

Guess who or what is stopping me. It certainly isn’t the man upstairs. Is it Time? Energy? Money? The mind? More tools? The so-called immovable object is your god, the so-called man upstairs.

By all means, Ongoing Truth rolls along, unimpeded, making its way as smooth as silk. Those stopped by false gods wonder how in the world anything gets done! And then, they ask their false god that same question! The “religious” demand of the man upstairs, “Hear and answer!” [Radio Silence] Meanwhile, by all means, “secular” people are doing remarkable things without a man in the sky to beg for permission.

What’s stopping you, if not you? If you are stopped by cost, time, or “the man upstairs,” you’ve overlooked the current. Say yes to this step, and the next one rises to meet your approaching foot. If you’re waiting for money, time, others, “mother” or the weather to give you permission, the man upstairs has foiled you.

Walk confidently to the obvious step, the Oblivious One. You can trust the Oblivious.

You must, if you want to climb every mountain.
