The price of the best.

My personal trainer has taught me more than anyone I know.

Arrogance is a culture of not working for what you desire, but rather having it fully developed, instantaneously. Life allows instantaneous blowups, but too often, the recipient is not ready. Isaac has taught me that technique, focus, and slow advancement rewards us now. Although grueling, this approach is terribly satisfying and doable. No fast lane is acceptable.

The slower, the better. The more refined, the better. The body can be pushed, but at the right pace. I require lots of recovery. Sleep, rest, and nutrition are important parts of this unique building. But so is pain. There is pain, but the threshold is tolerable. As the threshold expands, the payout increases. The spirit is also put under the same tests. The inner temple is being built, not just the outer.

They call it chiseled physique. I call it glorious. Tiny bits chipped away. I can endure that kind of pain and time. I’m sore, but not injured. Nothing intolerable. The benefits are extracted, but the cost seems less than the ultimate benefit. This is the secret. I get the better end of the deal. Movement is medicine, no matter how small.

The cost of avoidance is steep. Sedentary culture is a pain too great. I am designed to move. To thrive, we must move the threshold, carefully and slowly. It’s never too late, and whatever you’d like to do, do a small version of it, now.

I don’t care what it is, but a small version of it now will relieve pain. The pain of endurance and training are nothing compared to the pain of procrastination and avoidance. You are designed to fly. But the fast lane won’t give you the high you think it will.

The best is earned, refined, and slowly chiseled, bit by bit.
