I started to experiment with playfulness, wondering how my life might look if I started “tossing around” ideas. I’ve come up with some “strange” things. One of which is being invited to someone’s home. There is a person I admire in this world, a big name in certain circles, and I noticed he goes everywhere. He’s invited to speak, to be on interviews, and has appeared in any number of limelight experiences. But what’s strange is that we never know about who he invites into his own, private company.

So, I have a secret desire to be invited by the master himself. I won’t say his name. Why? I don’t want to spill the beans. I want to play in the inner realm and wonder if my desires are truly known. Is the ether empty?

In the Episcopal Church, there is a collect which is recited weekly. “To you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid.” Many people think that’s addressing some god in the sky. But you know what you know. You’ve got secrets. Many of them are desires, known only to you.

Your desires are known and your heart is open. Divine Mind is interwoven, and at work. A person is part of the network of this one mind. We still believe we have a “personal” mind. But in the inner realm, all is known, impersonal and interpersonal. All is heard, and no secrets are hidden. That scares people. But it thrills me. It makes me feel connected, unafraid, and not alone. Yet, I am whole and interconnected too.

I wonder if my request has been received. It was received before it was delivered to me in “my mind.”

Thankfully, I am the last to know.
