Find a need not a fault.

It’s easy to point a finger and to articulate what’s wrong with everything, but it is much more difficult to find a need and to meet it. Instead of complaining, find a way to help. It is a perspective shift, from harping on a problem to seeking a solution. Even “global” problems can be addressed, in some small way, with some creative imagination and a desire to be helpful. You may not think your contribution or solution makes a difference, but it does. Your contribution to potential solutions helps more than your contribution to complaining. Even the smallest gesture towards improvement of any kind, gains traction faster than you think.

Don’t dismiss your ability to meet a need, even those that seem impossibly large. The point is to make an effort. Something is better than nothing. Doing nothing is actually a bigger “problem” than thinking your contribution doesn’t matter. Don’t give in to the mind’s dismissal of how overwhelming a problem may be. That prevents you from taking action. Working to be part of the solution, rather than faulting others or circumstance for the problem, is about answering a call from within. That call is to be helpful. Recognizing problems is the world’s way of prompting you to be more helpful in the first place. By becoming a problem-solver, a healer, and a community-builder, you are responding to your life’s purpose. You can be a creative difference-maker, a helpful person who responds to needs, rather than one who just points fingers and stews about what’s “wrong” with the world. Find a need, and meet it today, even if it’s just a small gesture. The world needs everyone to do their part to help improve life on the planet. We have no more time for inaction or finger pointing.
