I’ve been writing on this blog since 2020 with no substantial progress by way of readership. My YouTube channel has been going for over a year. Stalled subscriptions. No monetization. No attention. In the darkness, progress seems stalled.
I’ve reflected on quiescence frequently. Each day, nothing seems to be progressing. I would love to be a well-known writer, blogger, and YouTube-content creator. I’d love to have opportunities to reach large numbers. My most heartfelt dream, something that has resonated with me for years, is to “touch the world.”
George Floyd said that, the one suffocated by police years ago. He also said, “I can’t breathe.” He once told a friend that deep inside, he wanted to “touch the world.” He did it posthumously. I want to do it now.
Real progress moves in darkness. Big achievers know something about the chasm called risk. They know how hard it is to turn one’s life over to what seems like black magic. They somehow know that the biggest dreams require the biggest leaps into darkness. They get out of the position of being “commander-and-chief” and leave the breathing to nature.
Big dreamers can’t see what’s ahead, by way of how-to. They advance into “lights out” territory. No windows. No access to the blueprint. No fruit to show for years of labor. Harvest seems out of sight. Out of mind. Out of reach. Confidence is a resonance that leads them, the only “evidence” they seem to need.
Big dreamers cross large fields of darkness. But to touch the world, you must get out of the business of fearing. Trust the boldness of blindfolded magic. Step out of the cockpit. Your windshield image of “how-to” is poppycock. Big dreamers keep their heads in the clouds and their eyes on the only thing that can truly touch the world – blind, bold, fearless faith.
