Big Bang Faith.

The universe, including all space, time, energy, etc., was condensed into an extremely hot zero-volume entity of infinite density called a singularity. Because all of space and time existed within the singularity, the singularity itself did not exist within space or time. That’s the best science can do for you.

Since the singularity itself was not in a location on the planes of space or time, there is no center of the universe; everything is expanding from everything else at an equal rate. As for the origins of the singularity, or even what existed before it, science is just as befuddled as we are.

So science stops where explanations no longer function. Those with deep insight try to name spaceless and timelessness, and we get the business for it. Jesus named it “The Kingdom of Heaven.” He got the business because he couldn’t point it out.

At some point, you’ll have to realize you have one foot in time and space and one foot “out” of time and space. Which foot is bigger? The origin of the origin of the universe is like being aware that you are aware. How does one understand the part of them that understands? Knowing that you know and knowing that you don’t know is this strange realm called faith.

Science won’t create an image of faith. It cannot go out on a limb like that, so silly people like me try. Science begins intuitively, but must close the gap with math and law. Faith closes that gap with interpretation, poetry, art, etc. It’s inconclusive that the world is not inherently “a mess.” But ordered. An organized accident, perhaps?

This gap has room for interpretation. Science cannot interpret. It must conclude. But faith knows the world doesn’t conclude, but remains as is. It lets you decide. So what is it? Do you want to live fearfully or with peace? Pick. It’s up to you. I choose faith.
