When you consider the source, you consider the curtain, the strange “blindness” out of which something seems to arise. That’s how everything seems to be – sprouted from behind the curtain. From out of the background comes a thought, a happening, an energy, an impulse, or people. I want to know the Ground, which seems to coalesce around the inextricable duality of foreground and background. How do I sense this something out of nothing – together?
The Big Bang seemed to have come out of nowhere. Nothing, nothing, nothing, then something. Asleep for eternity, awakened for a moment, then asleep again. Eyes closed, then eyes opened, then eyes closed. This is how we see life, but I want to know. How do I know? Where is nowhere? The Big Bang came out of nothing. I want to know – what is nothing? Consciousness arises out of unconsciousness. I want to know – what is unconsciousness? What is black without white?
Background and foreground seem entirely dependent upon each other. But what is The Ground out of which both of these arise? I seem to be able to notice that stuff arises from stillness. Yet, I cannot access what’s “behind” stillness. For without vibration there is no stillness.
A memory doesn’t cause pain, it arises, just like pain. A person, place or thing doesn’t cause pain. They arise. Pain is pain. Thoughts are thoughts. Consider the source. Go back to foundation. There is something about simply sensing this background/foreground phenomenon, noting how they arise together. How do I notice this togetherness?
There is something about becoming still and clear that helps you notice arisings, neutrally. You seem to be an emptiness out of which both foreground and background arise. That’s noticing yourself noticing The Ground is the neutral wire of positive and negative terminals connected. In that keen hyperawareness, you’re free, clear, and undefiled.
