How wonderful to be stationary.

We often think life pulls us in many directions, but there isn’t anywhere to go. Directions depend upon relativity, and the universe doesn’t move. But it grows. Into itself and from unto itself. So movement, in this sense, is expansive – more truth, more love, more abundance, more depth.

You will spend inordinate amounts of time in pursuit, chasing things like money, jobs, people, and circumstances. That chase wears you out because it’s a treadmill with a dangling carrot in front of your eyes. Once you realize you can’t catch it, you give up.

Likewise, you can’t run. This is the aversion part, the fear which seems to make us “move.” This is avoidance. But running from is just as futile as chasing towards. Remember, the universe doesn’t move. It’s stationary, like a stationary bike. So movement on earth is merely relative. You have something to push against when you move. This opposition is your friend. You’re happy to have something against which to push to create the sensation of movement. But, in truth you’re stuck. That is, until you realize the freedom of expansiveness. The universe seems infinite. So, you can expand forever. That’s exhilarating. Running and chasing are exhaustive.

Movement for movement’s sake is absolutely fun. Movement is paired with inertia. The two dance. But the universe is all alone, ultimately. It has nothing with which to compare. Or at least nothing we are aware of. Unless there are “other” universes. Perhaps. But for now, we’re stuck. What alternative is there? You’re bound to infinity. You’re bound to unlock timelessness. You’re bound to break free from the little “me” trying to get somewhere on his stationary bike. Where are you going? Pedal faster if you must. But you aren’t getting anywhere. The universe is stationary. Try expanding. That might be the relief you seek.
