Are you scatterbrained? If you say yes, congratulations – you have found the wormhole back “home.” This observation of your inability to pay attention is your golden ticket back to the beginning – the important journey from the fringe of multiplicity to serenity of singularity.
You know that you know. You know that you can’t focus. If you know that you know, then you can come home. You must train, however. Remember to keep your training sessions short. Notice when you are homed in. Notice when the mind has stopped chattering and flitting from thing to thing.
Notice that washing dishes is washing dishes; walking is walking; typing is typing; and so on. Notice that what keeps you up at night is way “out there” in the future. This is the Big Bang! The universe exploded into fragments that we’ve explored, only to realize the way home is inward, back to the basics. Back to home base. Back to focus.
To home in your attentiveness will be the greatest gift because the distractions that once kept you up at night dim, and you can re-engage with your life peacefully and simply. You’ll realize you have more time than you thought, more patience than you thought, more ability than you thought, and so on. Once you pay attention sharply, that focus will burn through. This fire is concentrated and doesn’t take effort. It’s alert, but not urgent. It’s clear, but not driving. It’s relaxed, but not lethargic.
Recollect your brain. Bring the Big Bang back home to the singleness of heart, mind, body, and surroundings. The prodigal returns and you’ll find The Center is welcoming. But only when you’ve had enough suffering by being “stretched” by a million, different things and responsibilities. When you come home, you’ll realize you never actually left, and that you only had one job – to focus and return to the serenity of singularity.
