It seems unreasonable to be depressed when you’re rich. It seems unreasonable to be happy, humorous, and content when you’re in hospice. This is what was said about a friend who recently passed away and spent his last days in hospice, joking with the nurses, being at total ease.
If I could pinpoint the reason why one is depressed, I would remove it. If I could pinpoint the reason why one is happy and free, I’d put it in pill form. Do you want to be in hospice to find out how unreasonable happiness is? Seems a bit drastic, but there is something to it. If I can be happy not knowing where my next meal is coming from, and I can be happy knowing death is right around the corner, don’t you think all of this goes beyond reason?
If I remove the Root Cause of emotion, I remove you. The Root Cause is not conditional. Once you realize you’re not in a pinch, you’re just uptight, then you can eradicate the so-called cause – the “idea” of you. Once you realize your sense of safety and security isn’t in your bank account, you can give away or spend all your money. Once you realize you’re going to die, you can do a comedy skit for your hospice nurse.
The Root Cause isn’t only in the situation. If I remove the picture that you’re in (the situation), then I remove you too. You’re all of it, right down to the Quick. You’re the Root, the vine, the branches, the fruit, the environment, and all in between.
You’re not in a pinch, you’re uptight for no reason. You’re not in a windfall, you’re flowing and happy for no reason. The Root Cause is unreasonable, that’s why. Time to live beyond reason, where you belong.
