It is never too late to sow seeds that bear a fruitful life. But don’t be impatient, and don’t be in a hurry to see any tangible results. The more important work lies with what’s happening beneath the surface, anyway. In gardening, it takes quite a while for root systems to mature and to develop. And likewise, so much of life’s important work is done deep within the roots of your soul. If you spend a lot of time feeding, nurturing, and cultivating your spirit, your life will eventually bear tangible fruit; however, that fruit is actually a byproduct of the love and spiritual work you’ve put into it. You have to trust that the spiritual “work” is one that will eventually yield a harvest – which is a life full of meaning and positive impact on others.
When you care about what kind of human you want to be, you’re cultivating spiritual seedings that have the power to interlace and connect people into the collective vineyard of goodness and prosperity – things the world is in desperate need of. Keep sowing seeds with your life, but remember to plant lots of love, cultivate an abundance of joy, and nurture everyday kindness and inner peace. Be productive with the fruits of your spirit, more so than with the work of your hands. When you cultivate spiritual seedlings, the hands tend to get more productive on their own, anyway. Cultivating the spirit usually yields motivation and desire to do more, in an outward way. Spiritual growth leads to more ambition to do more with your time, talent, and treasure. So in order to reap a bountiful harvest in your life, plant seeds that will blossom in your spiritual path, not just in your physical one. In the end, the fruits of the spirit are the only “products” that will make a real difference anyway.
