We need to remind ourselves of how small we used to be. Even the universe itself began as a seedling. We need to remind ourselves that those grand oaks out front were once merely acorns, and they experienced beauty and bounty in every stage of their life, not just the “grand stage,” the one you notice.
People who have a lot of success were at one time “nobodies.” But they spent their time loving their craft in every stage from infancy onward. A grand oak doesn’t make its debut per se. It’s just that when you see it for the first time, it seems impressive. You just caught it in a mature stage. You’re seeing it for the first time. The viewer was hiding, not the tree. It’s been on a steady growth stage.
You’re with yourself every second of the day. You don’t know what stage you’re in, because you’re always in the center. No matter what you set out to do, you just always feel like yourself, not a big shot. If you want a moment in the larger spotlight, you can have it; but to get up on that stage takes some consistency.
Your moment will come, and people will wonder where you came from. But like the grand oak, you’ve been there all along. Each stage of the way, you’re right in the center of your own, personal spotlight. When you get Centerstage and “others” notice you, it will be momentary; however. There are others in line. But honestly, all of the stages you go through are beautiful and meaningful, including the one you’re on now, even if no-one is noticing you. It’s OK. Just keep being your #1 fan! The larger spotlight will turn on you, you’ll impress everyone like that mature, grand oak, but you’re just being yourself in the stage you’re in right now.
