Last-ditch effort: Blow the trumpet.

Friday, October 25, 2024

When you seem to be stuck, just sing. When nothing seems to be working, just dance. When what is before you seems insurmountable, paint a new picture to lay over the top of it. When there is a wall in front of you, blow your trumpet. Joshua did, and the walls of Jericho dissolved.

Sometimes we think there isn’t much we can do. But I think that is a call to be creative. Life has this sinister way of closing in on you. You think there’s not enough, resources will run dry, or you’re out of time and luck. Your last-ditch effort would be to create a way with a magic wand. A song, a dance, a painting, or a loving act of kindness – this is your secret “weapon.”

Sing anew and vibrate higher. Let your soul sing above what seems to be closing in on you. Your inner song will expand your imagination, bring new light to what seems to be draining you. As the storehouse dries up on the outside, a new song will open unseen resources inside. Sing a new song of prosperity and hope. Sing a new song of victory and triumph. Sing a new song of renewed love, and let the vibrations ring loud and clear.

All washed up? All done for? Start playing. Start singing. Start dancing. The grim reaper is on his way because you’re singing the Dies Irae. Hard times are a-comin’ because you’re singing “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen.” This is the time to whistle a new tune, in the face of danger. Blow your trumpet for that’s the only act left – the act of creation, the vibrations of a new song, the dawn of victory.
