Who are you putting on? Throw caution to the wind.

One day, I was lying on my back outside, naked. I felt free. Haven’t you ever been skinny dipping? We love it because it represents freedom. When you throw caution to the wind, you realize the wind is also you. Why fear?

Being cautious is a way of saying you’re afraid of death. We feel unsafe. So, we compensate by putting on clothes, putting on weight, and putting on airs. Are you putting me on?

Whatever you’re putting on, you’re going to take off. You’ll get to the pearly gates with nothing but a naked, innocent formlessness that contains the totality of who you are. When I was lying on my back that day, soaking in the sun, the wind touched my body. It touched me in places that hardly ever see the sun or feel the breeze! It touched me intimately. And in that moment, I realized I was being touched by the universe. I am the universe, and the fullness of it touched me.

When another human touches you, what a miracle! You can touch people with words, actions, art, and music – or with the gentleness of your open hand, or a kiss on the cheek. If you’re lucky enough to be touched intimately – WOWZA! Do you ever contemplate what it means to be touched by God? Touch a human and find out.

The root of being is already inside you. Realizing that truth is touching. God is always touching – sometimes, nagging. When you awaken to the touch of the divine, you realize it’s an everlasting embrace. Take off your clothes, and you’ll feel it. Take off your bodysuit, and you’ll feel it’s completeness. Go ahead, throw caution to the wind. The wind is you too. Feel it, and let it all hang out and be touched. Whatever you’re putting on is coming off, my friends. That’s a promise.
