An investment of love and hope.

Desire brings results, but not immediately. It seems like if you want something to love you back, you have to love first. And you may have to love for a long time before you see a “return” on your investment.

Bodybuilding for example is a slow return of love’s effort. It’s a slow process that yields almost no big gains at once. You must love caring for your body, putting it through the right amount of stress, and appreciating the effort despite the lack of visual results. The work is inner long before it becomes outer.

I have had instances in my life where my desire was strong, but I saw little evidence that what I wanted would crystallize. I simply had to have faith in my desire and trust it was telling me something. Many times, it seemed like my desire couldn’t yield results, but it was because I hadn’t yielded to the love of effort and anticipation. I merely yielded to scarcity thinking.

If your desire is strong, it will sustain you. Desire creates a vacuum, and nature abhors a vacuum, but don’t fill it with emptiness and despair. Fill it with hope and fuel it with love. There will be a reciprocal energy coming your way, but you may have to just keep putting in the loving effort and holding steadfast to what you want for a long time. The key is to respect your desire, to honor it, and to love the space it creates, rather than becoming frustrated by it. A womb forms in the space of desire, and results are incubating. Love the process of warming your desire with faith. What you desire will come to fruition, but the initial seeds are fragile. Keep it alive with faith, nurture it with hope, and yield to love. If the desire burns brightly, so too will the future.
