Trying not to offend. That’s offensive.

When the mosquito bites she has no idea that she’s a pest. She feasts on human blood happily, ignorant of the pain her gluttonous feast causes. She could kill, with malaria, and has no clue of her “condition.” Likewise, we have no clue about our condition, never quite knowing that we are “as is.”

The “as is” used car might have a problem. Guess what? Something might be faulty about your actions, your words, and your beliefs. But like the mosquito, you feast on what seems right. But in the unseen, unintentional truth of being “as is” is putting a dent in the universe. The ripple, or dent you create is an impression that will rub up against the opponent. You will get under the skin of another, even trying not to get under their skin.

You’re a pest, an absolute nuisance, an inconvenience and offense to another – even in your attempt to not offend – you’ll offend. But you don’t know it, and you try to go around “carefully.” That’s like trying to sell something that is not “as is.” Even a brand-new car is “as is.”

Are you trying to sell yourself as not “as is?” We pretend to be without a footprint in this world. The real pretense is in thinking your actions have no impact, negatively. You’re not a neutral presence. You’re causing ripples in the universe that can be interpreted as problems. Where there is a problem, there is a purpose; however. Everything is “as is.” If college students really believed in themselves, I would have been jobless for 25 years. Their ignorance gave me purpose. Your blood gives the mosquitos food. Get rid of her, and who feeds the dragonflies? Everything is “as is.” So get in there and play. Stop trying to “not offend.” That’s offensive.
