Work on the honor system.

If you want something done right, do it yourself. What a great way to wear yourself out. Do you really want all of that responsibility?

A control freak is frenzied in futility. They assume no good nature, which manifests as proof when others let them down. Control freaks bet against the odds and win. When you expect others to drop the ball, they will live down to those expectations. Expect them to succeed, and they will live up to those expectations. Enlightened people aren’t gamblers. They are creators.

The secret is trust. It’s total lunacy to be a control freak, but how is the insanity of control any different than the insanity of trust? It’s equally as freaky to drop it as it is to think you control it. Imagine having to do everything yourself. Everything?

Think of how much is involuntary. How much of this world is trust-based? There aren’t enough police in the world to “enforce” law. 99% of it is the honor system. The honor system is a theory based on trust. The control-freak system is theory based on chaos and fear. Same difference, but one lets you off the hook.

“Why do I have to do everything myself?” You don’t. You don’t have to circulate your blood, hold the sun in place, make your lungs function, or keep the earth in orbit. Work on the honor system. What you need to know will come to you. If you need to take action, it will come to you. Ignorance is bliss as far as I’m concerned. Stay out of the affairs of pretentious “control.”

If you want something done right, don’t do it yourself, use the honor system. It might surprise you at how much you don’t have to do. That frees you up to do the things you love to do.
