Body mapping. Reading the signs.

Off the top of my head or from down in my soul. These phrases imply different levels of bodily communication. Our language pinpoints locations of certitude and fear in the body. The spirit seems to like depth. It seems to be the place of guiding resonance, even if the heady part of you doesn’t understand. The thoughtless part of us seems to make decisions in a more shallow location – off the top of the head. It’s gotta sink down deeper for me, however.

“Deep down inside,” or feeling it “in your bones” imply depth. Sometimes the message is on the hairs on the back of your neck – that’s sensing danger. That’s rare and acute, but helpful in the right context. Be wary of what might be considered “mixed” messages. The heady location fills in gaps – constantly wanting answers.

The inner chamber reveals action only in due time. It remains silent if nothing is to be done. I tend to rely upon the “down in the soul” location, primarily. It speaks and moves only when it’s time; the top of the head speaks and moves all the time. It hates gaps!

Wait until the “down in your soul” resonates. Follow it and know it will direct you in the right time. Stop listening to the knot in your stomach and the thoughts coming from the top of your head. Those locations don’t provide the most reliable information. The Real Boss is down in the soul, and the intervals in between directives can seem eternal. Wait.

Don’t abandon the depths when they are silent. Directives from that deep location come in intervals with large gaps. In the gaps, trust and do something enjoyable until directed. The depths of your soul are always alive, even when they seem silent. Trust in the gaps, not the thoughts that seem to just “fill in” empty space.
