Who ate my chips?

The world is running from itself. The head is chasing the tail, however. If you’re running from yourself, you are merely unknowingly running to yourself. As if being busy is a badge of honor! The thought of “being busy” is a story you make up to show the world you have significance. Come on!

There’s nowhere to run nor to hide. The universe has no outside, so even in the darkest places in this world, you’ll find yourself. Life has you cornered. But eventually, you’ll realize what that so-called prison is. It’s you facing the demons you created.

I know it feels like you are facing insurmountable obstacles and “forces outside of your control.” It feels like you are facing giants in the sky, deadlines, pressures from friends and loved ones, and all manner of life pressing in on you. It’s like sitting in front of the TV with a bag of chips, and once the show is over you’re suddenly surprised that the whole bag is gone. Who ate my chips?

Once you realize that all of this running is getting you nowhere, you suddenly awaken to the fact that this “unknown” obstacle that you distrust is simply a general unease in you that is meritless. Put most humans in a room, alone, and with nothing to do – no windows, no books, no phones or TV’s, and watch them squirm and writhe in pain. We can’t even be with ourselves without being so uncomfortable that we go insane. This shows me from whom we are running.

Your running away story is your pacifier. Your dialogue of “me,” “my life,” and “others” is feeding your frenzy. You keep the unease alive by thinking the pressures you face are something “out there,” other than your own doing. Who ate my chips? Are you still surprised it’s you?
