Don’t let it get to you. Easy advice to give, harder to follow. If you spend time with that thought, you come to the realization that when something gets under your skin, it’s because you’re open to it. Another way of putting it – it’s your fault. If that bothers you, it’s gotten to you, and you let it in. If there is fear, it’s gotten to you. If things must be different, it’s gotten to you. What’s gotten into you?

Are you untouchable? The answer to that question is a fervent and resounding YES. But you have to examine the source. When you’re touched by something, from where does that emanate? It emanates from within you, but you perceive the outer experience as the source cause.

If I say it’s your fault, to most people them’s fightin’ words! From guilt to love, from pressure to self consciousness, it’s all your doing. Failure to recognize the source of their misgivings is what makes people irritable. It feels like the thorn is coming from the outside, but the thorn is an inner phenomenon. The outside is a tricky test. Delays, rude people, obstacles, disease, and difficulty disguise themselves as causal, but it’s still your fault.

If you take issue with that, it’s still your fault. You let it get to you, so joke’s on you, and tag you’re it. Why then, would you continue to let it get to you? You simply don’t understand how the trick is done. Someday, you’ll understand the illusion, and that the joke is ultimately on you. But it takes a while to understand. The truth that sets you free is being free from the thinking that it’s something or someone else’s fault. Don’t get mad. If you do, it’ll be your fault. Remain untouchable, and you’ll never be “it.”
