You were never more completely yourself than in the first three years of life. You were connected only at the gut level. The conceptual level was not possible. You had no concept of self, separation, or that you were a so-called individual. Concept became “real” as you matured; but truth cannot be held in the boundaries of concept. Con-, when it’s a prefix means “thoroughly,” and -cept when used as a root means “taken.” If you are a slave to concept, you’ve been thoroughly taken. You, as an entity, cannot be conceptualized. Your truth cannot be pinned down; but even in saying it cannot, I’m trying to tell you who you are. Who you are simply cannot be put into words. Words are symbols. Truth as a symbol? Nice try.
Too bad you can’t be 0-4 years old again. During that time, there was no concept of self. You were true, connected at the gut level, one with source. Then you were told to look “out” for yourself. But that’s not the direction. Rather, you are to look “in” for yourself. Meister Eckhardt, the medieval theologian said, “God expects one thing from you, and that is you should come out of yourself insomuch as you are a created being, and let God be God in you.”
To come out of yourself, what a glorious way of putting it. What’s in the way, you say? Your concepts are thoroughly taking you “away” to look “out” for yourself. You can’t find yourself in concept! You can only let God be God in you. Be as a child and liberate yourself – free from the concept of fear, worry or separation. You’re not an idea or a concept. Come out of hiding, let go of the pretense. Come out, I want the world to know what’s Real.
