Practice your faith to get into the game.

When faced with the unknown, you may panic. I certainly have done my fair share of panicking. But in those situations where you’re faced with an uncertain future, you have to remind yourself that all future is uncertain; therefore, there is always an even playing field in the game of faith and fear. Faith plays offense and fear plays defense. I’m in it to win it, and there is nothing that can stop me. It’s all offense in my book.

The key is to shore up your faith. I place my faith in me. I don’t trust gods “out there,” or religious doctrines or trinkets. I quit my full-time job recently, and I followed through with what my gut was telling me. My gut feeling was strong, and therefore I trusted it. Will it pay off? Who knows, but I’d rather place trust in myself than some random, sinister force, a rosary bead, a rabbit’s foot, or a “sure thing.” My sure thing is myself, and I place all bets on him.

The great happening of your life gives you something to describe. As it pertains to your future; however, you don’t have to describe the nightmare that comes to the top of your head, you can instead scribe it with more intention, benefit, and detail than that. Why not get behind the intention and create a story that doesn’t suck or scare you? What do you have to lose? You have fear to lose, that’s what. Shoring up your faith is simply taking the automatic response of fear, and beating it at its own game. The future is delusional. You might as well participate in it with a leg up, and get more creative about what kind of future you really want. Play offense by believing your story, not the nightmare scenario that comes from the top of the head. Faith can win if you practice creatively.
