In God We Trust. Who is the source, then?

If you were stranded on a deserted island alone with no clothes, no food, nor shelter, I think you’d be rather surprised at how resourceful you would become. You wouldn’t just stand there, palms open, looking up into the sky and asking “Help me God!” You might initially say that, but in the lack of response you’d realize from where your help comes – from yourself. I’m not writing this to dis your belief in God, but to dis your association with thought.

God is a word. It’s a sound that is a symbol for something. Words represent things. What does the sound “god” represent? In our minds God is “out there.” To categorize is to differentiate. A tree, a flower, the sky, me, you, and God. Those are things, but they are only things because we think them to be. They are separate entities that have no existence in truth.

On your desert island, would you wait for God? If you’re being suffocated, you won’t ask for God, you’ll want air more than anything in the world. Air would become God. When you really need help, you will become God. Stranded, you’d build a shelter, scout for fresh water, and protect your body. You’d hunt and fish. You’d build a fire. You’d provide. You are the source; but so is the island. The island provides too. This is a beautiful truth, there is no separation. Creature and environment are one. But they don’t know each other in concept, they are tied together in the unknown realm. When you need help, whom do you trust? The only difference between the words GOD and YOU is the way they sound. The sounds are meaningless. In your hour of need, meaning will come from you. You always have been and you always will be The Source. Thank YOU/GOD.
