Without you there is no God.

Does the wave know how vast he is? Does he even know that he is the ocean – but in a temporary, small form? He ripples on the so-called surface, but seems to not be able to tell that underneath himself is so much more. He stretches and foams on the beach, but is never separated from who he fundamentally is. Even if he becomes a droplet from crashing on the rocks, he will fall back into the loving arms of the ocean. Even if he evaporates, he will be absorbed into the atmosphere that gives life to the entire planet.

Does the tip of an iceberg know that she is a vast structure below the surface? Does the iceberg know that she is essentially the ocean? Does the ocean know that she is essentially all of the water in the universe? Does the branch know that he is a tree? He probably feels insignificant; but essentially without him the tree is no longer treelike.

Does the foreground know itself in relation to the background? Does east know west? They probably don’t know each other directly, but one cannot exist without the other. West depends on east. Foreground depends on background and vice versa. They know each other but indirectly. Isn’t that beautiful?

Like the wave is to the ocean; part is to the whole; and east is to west; so you are to source eternal. What part of a tree is not a tree? What part of the universe is not human? Everything is made of stardust. Everything is essentially one yet has no idea of the interconnectedness that makes it all possible. With no ocean there is no wave. With no background there is no foreground. Without east there is no west. With no part there is no whole. Without you there is no God.
