How can you ever know your potential? It’s like “knowing” God, in the intellectual sense. Once God becomes an object of consciousness, it then becomes personified as a subject, and open to criticism. If you think God is a white-bearded ruler sitting “up there” in heaven, doling out favors to those he likes, while punishing the sinful, then someone can crush your so-called argument for divine existence.
Potential, as an object of consciousness, is impossible to define too. Evidence of it, like God, can only be seen in hindsight. By looking back, you can see how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown and changed, and how God has “miraculously” made it all fall into place. Even making it through a life-crisis, you can extract growth and understanding, so potential is everywhere. God is everywhere – there’s no place God and potential are not.
Ruminating your so-called shortcomings frustrates potential. Sinister pleasure is derived from the attention of the familiar “woe-is-me” story – “Nothing ever works out; I’m not that kind of person; I’m not good enough; I’m too old,” etc. To see potential blossom, to fully see it actualize you must believe that all points of possibility exist in the present moment, at all times, and that you are not separated from it – ever. When you realize you cannot go wrong, and that every experience is a means of growth, no matter how seemingly bad, you activate bigger potential. You can fail your way to success by keeping on or better yet, believe your way to success by knowing who you are; but you can never fear or worry your way to success. You can only worry yourself to death. You’re not detached from supply. You’re not detached from oneness of life. When you know that, you can actualize anything, then fear diminishes, and your life will flourish, practically on its own.
