The pandemic has changed the world. The lasting effects of these changes will not be fully known for quite some time. Rather than fearing the outcome of change, look forward to the goodness that’s bound to emerge. We’ve already seen tons of amazing creativity come from these challenging times. There is no point in believing that we’re headed towards destruction. Even if there was truth to that, you still have to get on with life, today. But remember, life itself is 3.5 billion years old. I think it’s perfectly capable of making it through another challenge! The naysayers of human history have never been victorious in their apocalyptic rhetoric. Start believing in the power of the collective, human spirit. Under duress, the creative mind has proven to be incredibly resourceful, resilient and productive. Moreover, trust that you can weather dramatic changes in your own life, and that these changes have the potential to bring a positive change in your life!
Accept that you cannot revert back to “normal” when this pandemic subsides. Normal operations were most likely not working anyway, but the mind always drags you back to what’s familiar. What’s familiar has rarely been what’s best. Time moves forward, never backwards. The universe only moves forward, and it always has. Today is a great opportunity to see the benefit of facing forward. Doom and gloom don’t face forward, they face downward. Even though you don’t have a clear picture of a post-pandemic world, you can always sense the refreshing nature of newness in times of great change. In a manner of speaking, the universe is rearranging your living room furniture, but trust me, you’ll end up loving it! It’s happened to life many times before, and it will happen again. Your willingness to flow in the forward direction of a new reality is paramount to your survival and potential to thrive. The changes that are underway in the world are not obstacles, but avenues to prosperity. Move towards enlightenment, away from suffering, and into a much-needed change for the better.
Ryan, I’m belatedly reading your blog, and want to be reminded every day to read it. Is it possible to get a reminder via email? Or is this a new habit I need to establish? I love them! They speak to all of us…young and old.
