I wonder if life is meant for joyfulness, playfulness, and ease, but we turn it into stress. Are we supposed to be truly well-adjusted and peaceful creatures? Is it our inherent nature to be lively, vivacious and joyful? I think so, and a large part of that joy is just recognizing that you’re not the controller of the universe, but a small fragment of its power, expressed in focused form, uniquely as you.
That’s not to say that we do nothing, although that’s also possible. But it seems that the fundamental purpose of life is simply the love of being, and to express the joy that comes from being uniquely who you are. Life is for joy, yet for many of us, life is for confusion and struggle. For others, life is for no real purpose at all – maybe just to survive. But if you created a world, wouldn’t you want your living creatures to enjoy themselves? I would. The birds seem to enjoy themselves. I know my cat fully enjoys himself and luxuriates in all of his glorious full-time napping, grooming, and playing! Why can’t humans love being human? Like all lifeforms, we bump into obstacles and challenges, but they just make us stronger. When animals bump into challenge, they face it, then it’s over. We carry it throughout the day.
Are you waiting for something good to happen, or for the day to be done before you just enjoy yourself? I think we have the right to enjoy whatever we’re doing at the moment. You have the power to create the life you want, so I ask, “Are you loving it yet?” We do and we achieve with the intention of being joyful, settled, and fulfilled, yet we never claim it, moving on to the next day. At what point will all of this be fun? Maybe now?
