Freedom from specific outcome. A new outlook on potential.

The quality of wishful thinking feels like begging. It’s a despairing energy that says, “Please…” over and over again. It uses ritual, repetition, and persuasion for a specific outcome. Wishful thinking is closed off, myopically focused on what your limited brain can cook up for you. But that’s what possibility is. If you can see in your mind, then it’s possible. But the best parts of life are about potential, that which is unseen. Potential knows absolutely nothing. Potential is wide-eyed, empty, open, and totally accepting. That posture contains the fullness of who you are. Wishful thinking contains limits.

The so-called surprise of potential is your most valuable asset. Potential contains the “unthinkable,” that at first may seem unwanted, but always unfolds exactly as it needs to to open yourself to new, internal dimensions of spiritual maturity. The problem is, the mind doesn’t like surprises, especially things it sees as “unwanted.” But often, the so-called unwanted contains the elements of what’s necessary to awaken you to what’s truly wanted, on the inner level.

Potential is an awakening to the value of what you cannot know. Tapping into potential means leaving room, forever. Remember, potential lies beyond what you can imagine, not what you can imagine. What you can imagine is a prediction. Predictions are thoughts, and those have limits. Potential exceeds limits, and it moves you into the “wildest” parts of your imagination. When big things come to people, they are often surprised, so that means they’ve tapped into potential. The key is to get very comfortable in the space of surprise. It puts you in an alert, peaceful posture of acceptance and openness to what is, and it places no specific conditions on any outcome whatsoever. That’s the key, placing energy into multiplicity, not specificity. Your potential (the power of the unknown) will literally blow your mind, if you stay open to it, and you lovingly accept what comes your way.
