Possibility lurks in the strangest places.

There is one thing in life that can never be taken away from you – possibility. Divorce or a breakup doesn’t mean true love isn’t possible for you in the future. A financial “disaster” does not mean monetary prosperity isn’t possible for you in the future. If you go to prison, it doesn’t mean you will never find a purpose. Even inmates begin ministries, start choirs, write books, etc. Loss of health hasn’t stopped people either. Joni Eareckson-Tada became a quadriplegic, and has continued contributing to the world in ways that many “healthy” people couldn’t imagine. Stephen Hawking did too.

Tear down the walls of impossibility. What’s held you back doesn’t have hold you down – you can think of a new way forward. Possibility exits in what you haven’t thought of yet, that’s all. Just because you haven’t thought of it, doesn’t mean it won’t come. It could be waiting for you in your imagination. It could be waiting for you in that “chance” encounter. It could be waiting for you in the mail (like a unexpected check), on the internet (like a job opportunity), or in your heart (like a gut feeling). Just because you cannot see it, think of it, or because you believe that you’re unworthy of it doesn’t mean that it’s not possible. It just hasn’t arrived yet.

A circumstance may look dismal, but possibility hides in the weirdest places. Those who choose to believe in what’s possible, even if it seems unlikely, have discovered a compelling force that defeats discouragement. If you are discouraged, it’s simply because possibility is hiding behind your fear, above your lack of self-worth, and around your negative thinking. Have the courage to believe in what’s possible, and it will show itself to you in the most unexpected times, in the strangest places, and in the most unconventional ways.
