When you have a vision, the first leg of your journey is long, it yields no fruit, and it’s a black, empty void. You may go years with nothing to show for your efforts (finding true love, landing an awesome job, starting that business, etc.). You may even get pushed back. The first leg of any venture will test your loyalty to your vision, the gut instinct of your promise. It’s testing your resilience, strengthening your faith. Don’t give up until you see the brightness of what awaits you in the port of your destination. It’s just above the horizon, just off the tip of the ship’s bow. If you turn around now, you’ll miss out.
Don’t abandon your dreams simply because the first part of your journey is fruitless, lonely, or murky. If it has your name on it, it will appear, eventually. Press on, even if you haven’t a clue how, or in which direction you’re going. Help will come when you least expect it. A hand will reach towards you, and seemingly from out of the darkness, a door will open. Feel your way around in the dark for a while, but don’t panic or get desperate. The docking port will be right on the tip of the bow, right on course.
When you begin to see your destination, don’t get hasty, don’t speed up or become reckless, just stay steady as she goes! The darkness was just a test of your faith – no fear necessary. Your pilot ship has been guiding you safely from port to port, your entire life. Trust in this truth, but keep looking out, towards the horizon. The land of milk and honey is within tasting distance. Don’t turn back now, don’t get weary. Press forward – you’re almost there.
