Happiness, fun, love, and success are notorious for failing to respond to pursuit. At their best, happiness, fun, love, and success seem to just come spontaneously, rather than through what we do to strive for them. Trying to have fun; trying to be happy; trying to find love; and trying to be successful only makes you tired and exhausted. Pursuing strips the joy out of life, leaving you with nothing but exhaustion and frustration from flailing about.
Nature seems to do everything effortlessly. Yes, there are disruptions – storms, volcanoes, skirmishes in between various lifeforms, but the normal state is homeostasis. That’s where nature seems to be most productive, in a sense of balance and ease. There is no striving in nature. There’s no struggle, as a means of the way it operates. Creation always seems to want to return to balance – homeostasis. If humans stopped all of their shenanigans, the universe would find balance once again.
Are you trying too hard? Chances are, there is not much physical effort needed for anything that you need to do today. Most of what you have to do is a piece of cake, on the physical level. Yet maybe you make a struggle out of it, in pursuit of something that cannot begotten from striving, anyway. It might be better to forget about all of that pursuing, striving, or trying. It just takes you out of homeostasis. Come back to the center, the peaceful balance of joy within, and you won’t have to strive anymore. You can do things with ease and with love. You most likely have a lot on your plate, but you don’t need to eat it all at once. The peace and balance of being centered will be where you do your best work. It’s certainly how nature does her best work, with no striving at all. Try to copy it!
