Everything is seasonal, and seasons change. Any struggle that you’re going through right now has an ending. Anything that is going well in your life, also has an ending. Even so-called long-term relationships are seasonal. Are there things in your life that have changed seasons, and perhaps it’s time to move on?
Pay attention to the ebb and flow of people, situations, thought patterns, beliefs, etc. Notice in your own inner world how seasonal things are – one day you’re on top of the world, and the next you’re as empty as an echo chamber. Emotions are seasonal; pain is seasonal; pleasure is seasonal; beliefs are seasonal; relationships are seasonal; the physical body is seasonal. The key is to pay attention to when one season has ended and another has begun, and to peacefully allow the change.
Not only do seasons change, for change’s sake, but they are progressive, for growth’s sake. You cannot go back to being the person you once were, in a previous season. Seasons have their own timing too. You cannot rush through them, and you cannot make them change faster. As you enter one season of your life, don’t resist the transition, don’t hold on too tightly to what you used to be. Each season of your life is purposeful, it’s meant for you to learn and to grow. If things are going well, enjoy them while they last. If things are going poorly, wait it out, learn your lesson, and enjoy when springtime arrives – it’s on its way. Above all, remain peaceful with the the complex, seasonal changes, and enjoy the ephemeral nature of all things. Get comfortable with the changing seasons of your life – it will be that way forever, so you might as well get used to it, and learn something along the way.
